The UNT Community Garden will be a Space where UNT students, faculty, and staff can organically grow food, become educated on sustainability, and foster connections and relationships that will benefit our community.
The UNT Community Garden is meant to be a place for all students, regardless of gardening knowledge or background. Seeds, tools, water, and gardening supplies will be provided for FREE for gardeners. The garden is intended to be a place for all to gather, garden, learn, and socialize.
The Garden came about through a student led proposal presented to the We Mean Green Fund Committee in 2015. It will be located in front of Legends Hall, behind the Rec Center, and will feature raised garden beds, composting, native landscaping for pollinators, and fruit trees!
UNT Student Organizations, Student Groups of 5 or more people, and Departments are welcome to apply for ownership of one of the plots! Previous gardening experience is NOT necessary.
Applications are open now! To apply you must read and review the Participation Contract, and submit your completed Plot Application to CommunityGarden@unt.edu by February 24, 2017! After the deadline, plots will be awarded by lottery, and plot holders will be notified by March 1.
If you have any further questions that are not answered in the Participation Contract and Plot Application, please email CommunityGarden@unt.edu.
